Living next to Fern Ridge Reservoir is such a pleasure! Sure, the Corps of Egineers drain the water in the winter, so it is only a seasonal lake, but winter on the mud flats has its own charm.
The mudflats make the lake water in summer a bit murky, but that doesn’t affect the enjoyment of being out on the water. It is a great fishing lake, a sailing lake, a party-boat lake, a skiing lake, a kayaking lake. It is big and you always feel like you have the place to yourself.
Most of all, we are only minutes away on foot from Fern Ridge Shores Marina and day use area. The current fee for a rental slip is $400 a season, and you can keep your kayak secured on a dock there for far less. What a bonus this has been, to just pop over to our dock and take a sunset boat ride. We think the next home owners will enjoy it just as much as we have.
